They are always so much fun to help and they all have different personalities that crave different looks. All of our brands for kids include a two year warranty with all of the frames. But there are better options for kids that have been rough on their glasses in the past or kids that are very active and they need a frame that can keep up with all of their adventures.

Nano: Nano's have quickly become our favorite brand for kids. They're virtually indestructible, they have the option to not be worn with a strap or you can easily snap on either of their two straps they include, and they offer many colors for each of their frames. Nano's are unique in the fact that they are a flexible frame but their materials do not stretch out. They also have the best warranty we have come across for glasses, they cover everything except for loss for up to two years.

Miraflex: We have carried Miraflex frames for many years and they have been one of our go to's for durable frames for kids. They have the most options for available colors in their frames and they have many styles to fit baby's 0-6 months of age all the way to teenagers.

Feb31st is one of the most unique brands we feature in our stores, actually it's THE most unique brand featured in our stores. Imagine an eyewear line that's completely customizable, eco-friendly, and has more shapes than our imaginations can begin think of.

The common problem faced by all companies who use wood as their primary material for glasses is the fact wood doesn't flex, it's a rigid material that if flexed too much it will break. Feb31st has solved this problem by crafting their eyewear using 13 separate layers of wood and rubber pressed together using an industrial press. This does a couple things, first, the press creates what's called face form so it allows the glasses to curve around our faces, creating a better fit and allowing for better optics. Second, sandwiching the thin wood pieces with rubber creates a durable long lasting combination that's unlikely to break when flexed.

Each pair of glasses from Feb is a custom-made, one of a kind piece. Since their glasses are layered they give us the ability to customize each layer in the sandwich to add small pops of color throughout the frame, we can also request a chamfer to bevel part of the frame back so all of the layers appear in certain areas of the frames. With colors ranging from subtle wood grains with neutral stains to bright colors inspired by rainbows, Feb31st offers options for everybody! They have a handful of different collections throughout their brand, some paired with titanium to keep the lightweight feel but add a separate dimension. What does Custom Eyewear really mean?

Our custom eyewear is made specifically for you! It's tailor fit to your facial features, meaning a perfect fit on your bridge and the exact temple length needed for a comfortable fit. The shape is made specifically for you and the design is a one of one design with only you in mind. You're able to pick what materials you'd like to use from the finest European and Japanese cellulose acetate, exotic woods, or even ethically sourced water buffalo horn. You also get to pick and choose the colors and patterns you would like to use. So as you can tell these are made 100% for you in our workshop based out of beautiful Northern Utah.

What materials are available?

Since Rudy Project makes so many lenses for specific conditions they've also developed the majority of their frames to be able to interchange lenses. This allows you to continue to adapt to the changing light conditions and weather conditions.

How are they made?

When we say our glasses are handmade we truly mean it. Many of our frames are cut by hand. There are times we will start with a cutout from a CNC machine but all of the sanding, filing, laminating, and polishing is done by hand. This gives us the ability to control the quality from the start and ensure your tailored frame is the best of the best.

Our frames typically go through three to five separate rounds of sanding and polishing before we are satisfied with the shine and all imperfections have been removed from the material.

Like we said above you are able to choose from premium cellulose acetate, exotic hardwoods, or horn from water buffalo.

-Cellulose Acetate

Cellulose acetate comes from wood pulp and cotton. It's a hypo-allergenic materials that works so well for glasses because it's a natural material that is very gentle on your skin and lightweight on your face. Acetate is available in thousands of colors and patterns, from bright neon colors to neutral patterns. While many companies use acetate for there frames, there are many different grades and qualities available. We source the majority of our acetate from Mazzuchelli's factory in Italy. This is widely known as some of the highest quality premium acetate available and they have more options than anybody else. We also source some acetate from Japan, we enjoy working with this material because it's cured longer making it hold a polish longer. But it's more limited in colors than what we can get from Italy.

-Exotic Woods

We can also craft glasses from almost any type of wood. We have the experience and technology available to create a fit with the correct amount of face form and pantoscopic tilt to make a comfortable fit while showing off the grains in the wood and create a truly unique frame.

-Horn

Horn is another material available. Every plate is unique and ranges from very light colors like whites and creams to a dark black with light striations throughout it. This is all ethically sourced with much of it coming from water buffalo in India. If you're really wanting a unique pair of glasses then horn is the material for you.

Rudy Project's frames are all made in Italy and rather than inexpensively made by injection molding. Their one of the only sports oriented eyewear brands we have come across that actually give us the ability to adjust their frames and create the perfect fit.

Rudy Project started in Italy in 1985 and has been pioneering both eyewear technology and helmet technology in the cycling world ever since. Since 1985 they've developed many task specific lenses for different activities. ImpactX Lens Material

Rudy Project has developed a state of the art lens material that is virtually indesctructible. Every company has access to materials like Polycarbonate or Trivex but they have their drawbacks. Poly has poor optics compared to similar materials while Trivex is more expensive and heavier. ImpactX combines the lightweight properties of Polycarbonate and the great optics of Trivex and improves upon both. It's also available in Rudy's patented photochromic colors that aren't available anywhere else.

Rudy Project has an excellent Rx lab that allows you to get any of their proprietary lens colors in their frames. This also allows them to develop the perfect lens shapes for a wide variety prescriptions and uses. On top of their Rx in frame technology they also have Rx adapters and inserts that can be interchanged between their sports frames and goggles so you don't have to worry about multiple pairs of glasses.
